My Heart Can't Take It !

Here's our stanley Cup hopes 1 year ago
I knew keeping Peca was a dream but now
Pronghead wants to leave too huh ! ?

What kind of personal problem would make you want to leave the best team you've ever played on ?
Well Chris I hope it's a real good reason... cause losing the Stanley Cup was bad
enough, this just rubs vinegar in the open festering wound !

I guess I'm gonna need a few more of these now !

My dream trade now that Pronger wants out is to get Martin Havlat, Chris Phillips and Andy Meszaros from the Ottawa Senators ! Come on K-Lowe make the bleeding stop !

At least the M.V.P. was from close to Edmonton
Sherwood Park's Cam Ward !

Char and I won a 3 foot party sub from Subway at the 2006 Duck Drop, and brought it to our Stanley Cup Party !

These are my friends Dale and Lonny before the game !

Here's my wife Char and my friend Dawn during the game !

These were my friends after the game !

(Haha Just Kidding !)

Game Day !

It's D-Day, the Oiler's will storm the beach of North Carolina today and move inward to the city of Raleigh with the force of hurricane Alberto. They will cause havoc, mayhem and destruction to ultimatley claim the Stanley Cup as their prize ! Many scoffed at the idea when I boldly predicted an upset over Detroit. Are you serious...the Presidents Trophy winner !? As many thought I was crazy when I predicted a come-back over Thornton and Cheechoo of the Sharks, when we were on the ropes two games to none. Three times a charm defeating the Ducks of Anaheim... wasn't supposed to happen ! Against Carolina the biggest kicker was Roli the goalie going down at the hand of his own team-mate, they said that's it, she's over ! Where I replied "we haven't even played a final round game in "Oil Country" yet, just wait I'm not convinced this is done !" But the Oilers don't have a goalie they mocked ! Well to all the non-believers, to the doubters, and to the rude people who have mocked my beloved team I say..." Sit back, relax and enjoy a game 7 that was NEVER supposed to happen !" Win or lose the Edmonton Oilers have done me proud !

"Something that we pride ourselves on is will and determination," Edmonton defenseman Chris Pronger said. "It's kind of the way we play."

Which Oiler most deserves to win the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff M.V.P.?

  • Ales Hemsky-the playmaker
  • Fernando Pisani-the game winning goals guy
  • Chris Pronger-the ironman defenceman
  • Dwayne Roloson-the man that proved us all wrong
  • Any Other Choice

C.B.C. Irony !

Does anyone else feel as I do, that Bob Cole and Harry Neile have got to leave Hockey Night In Canada ? Those old dorks are as lame as their C.B.C. counterparts Statler and Waldorf. Do you see the visual comparison? How many times can one play by play announcer screw up in a hockey game ? Apparently alot ! Between his biased opinion, ignorance or the Western Conference, and confusing players names it's time to pass the mic to someone younger and quicker ! It's almost like Gordie Howe trying to play in the N.H.L. today, it just wouldn't happen. So let it go Bobo. I dislike Harry Neile equally ! Had the Montreal Canadians made the Cup final these guys would be perfect for the job cause it's the only team they care about. How can a color man say "Boy, I didn't know that Shawn Horcoff was so fast !" Give me a break, you're supposed to know these things... cause you're paid to know these things ! I will nick name you "Fairy" Neile.

Statler & Waldorf, or is it Bobo Cole & Fairy Neale

throw those tomatoes at Bobo and Fairy !

Let's get started on Ron MacLean and Don Cherry shall we ! I don't know just how much more I can take, their banter is ruining my chee. The loud suits Don has been wearing are causing me to "dry heave" and their weird little non-hockey topics are not interesting. Okay, I don't mind when they talk about how stupid penalties are ruining the game, but what I do mind is how "They" think they can fix it over night. Some valid opinions, but to beat Colin Campbell senseless was very un-classy of Ron MacLean ! Don...buy a suit like one of these in the pictures adjacent ! Ron... five minut major for being a jerk !

Despite the 3 power play goals I'm still not satisfied with the reffing ! it should have been a 5-0 game ! but what ever let's go back to Carolina and win this thing !

A Big thanks to Lonny And Char for having me over to watch the game, and a great spaghetti dinner too !

1/2 hour til game time !

The question posed on the Oilers home page is ...
Will the series be going back to Carolina for game 7 ?
yes 13,000 -98%
no 220 -2%
...so there you have it !

MacTavish: Roloson's return is 'very doubtful' ESPN.com

EDMONTON, Alberta -- When word circulated that Dwayne Roloson skated briefly Friday before the Edmonton Oilers' morning skate, there was a buzz that the goaltender might return to play in the Stanley Cup finals.
So, will he play if the series against Carolina goes to Game 7?
"Nah, I don't think so," Roloson, wearing shorts and a knee brace on his right leg, told reporters Friday. "As of right now, everything's been done in a brace and I haven't even tried to go on a butterfly yet and that's important for goalies. So, right now, I haven't even tried that and I am not even thinking of doing it.
"It's part of the rehab right now. We're pushing as hard as we can and [skating] is just part of it. To play, you can't really wear a brace, at least not for me. ... I am trying to do my rehab, I am not trying to do anything else."
Roloson was injured in Game 1 of the Cup finals when he was knocked into the goal post, suffering a third-degree strain in his MCL. Up to that point, Roloson was by far the Oilers' best and most consistent player, leading them on an unexpected playoffs run.
After Ty Conklin came in to replace Roloson late in the opener, he mishandled a puck, which led to Carolina's game-winning goal. Jussi Markkanen was then named the Oilers starter for the rest of the series.
The soft-spoken Finn has given Edmonton solid performances to help pull the series to 3-2 heading into another do-or-die game against the Hurricanes, on Saturday night at Rexall Place.
Roloson said Friday the rehab continued to go well and that "knock on wood, there haven't been any setbacks."
Oilers coach Craig MacTavish wasn't as definitive with reporters as Roloson, but he doubted a Roloson return.
"Never say never, if it goes nine, it's a possibility," quipped MacTavish. "[Roloson] wanted to give it a try, and I guess you never know, but very, very, very doubtful."
Roloson is set to become an unrestricted free agent after this season. With many teams looking for goaltending help this offseason, Roloson will be a wanted man. The Oilers, who gave up a first-round draft pick at the trade deadline to acquire Roloson, will likely make every effort to keep the netminder.
