Lose Oilers Lose !
I still propose we tank the season, and go for the highest draft pick possible. 6 games to go, and I want to see an "L" in the win/lose column for each game !
16 Tampa Bay @ L 3-1
15 @ Anaheim L 5-1
14 @ San Jose L 3-0
13 @ Los Angeles L 5-1
12 Minnesota @ L 2-1
11 St. Louis @ L 3-2 OT
10 Vancouver @ L 2-1
09 Colorado @ L 5-1 Way to go Guys !
08 Colorado @ W 4-3 SO Oops
07 Nashville @ L 4-0 Back on Track !
06 @ Nashville L 4-3 Lose... to Gain !

03 @ Minnesota L 3-0 Way to stink it up !
02 @Minnesota L 3-0 As good as planned !
01 @ Calgary W 3-2 Could hurt our pick status.

The streak is done !

I hate to have to post this but... the Oilers put an end to their 12 game losing streak last night with a 4-3 shoot out victory over the Colorado Avalanche.

Marty Reasoner scored the only shoot out goal over Peter Budaj.

There are still 7 games remaining for the Oilers to lose. I am saying this with hope because the worse the finish, the better the first round draft pick.

Draft lottery goes April 10
March 23, 2007

NEW YORK -- The National Hockey League Draft Drawing, a weighted lottery system to determine the order of selection for the first 14 picks of the 2007 Entry Draft, will take place Tuesday, April 10, at 12 p.m., ET, at the NHL's New York office. The result of the Draft Drawing, and the order of selection for the first 14 picks of the 2007 Entry Draft, will be announced immediately after the drawing.

Clubs that did not qualify for this season's Stanley Cup Playoffs, or clubs that acquired the first-round picks of those non-playoff clubs, will participate in the Draft Drawing. The club selected in the Draft Drawing may not move up more than four positions in the draft order. Thus the only clubs with the opportunity to receive the first overall selection are the five clubs with the lowest regular-season point totals, or those that acquired an eligible club's first-round draft picks. No club can move down more than one position as a result of the Draft Drawing. Under the weighted lottery system, the club with the fewest regular-season points will have the greatest chance (25per cent) of winning the Draft Drawing and will pick no lower than second at the 2007 Entry Draft.

The current percentage chance of being selected in the Draft Drawing is as follows, based on team finish:

30th........... 25.0 per cent

29th........... 18.8 per cent

28th........... 14.2 per cent

27th........... 10.7 per cent

26th.............8.1 per cent

25th.............6.2 per cent

24th.............4.7 per cent

23rd.............3.6 per cent

22nd............ 2.7 per cent

21st.............2.1 per cent

20th.............1.5 per cent

19th.............1.1 per cent

18th.............0.8 per cent

17th.............0.5 per cent

The 2007 NHL Entry Draft will take place at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, OH. The first round will take place on Friday, June 22 commencing at 7 p.m. (Columbus time) and the subsequent rounds (two through seven) will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 23.

Lose Oilers Lose !

I'm convinced that Oiler management has given up on the season , so here's me saying if it's true ... "then burn, baby burn !" I propose we tank the season, and go for the highest draft pick possible. 16 games to go, and I want to see an "L" in the win lose column for each game !
16 Tampa Bay @ L 3-1
15 @ Anaheim L 5-1
14 @ San Jose L 3-0
13 @ Los Angeles L 5-1
12 Minnesota @ L 2-1
11 St. Louis @ L 3-2 OT
10 Vancouver @ L 2-1
09 Colorado @ L 5-1 Way to go Guys !
08 Colorado @ W 4-3 SO
07 Nashville @ L 4-0 Back on Track !
06 @ Nashville
05 @ St. Louis
04 @ Chicago
03 @ Minnesota
02 @Minnesota
01 @ Calgary

Here are some of the possibilities for newest Oiler !

the Oil have 3 picks in the first round and surely they can make some great picks with some smart thinking. If the season were to end today we would have the

27th pick from Anaheim

18th pick from the N.Y. Islanders

8th Edmonton

What a turd !

Not enough hate for a "Battle of Alberta !" and where was the blood ?
*

Well a few players showed up and actually played, Pisani, Roloson, Jacques and Pouliot. The rest were not very high in the impact department ! Not naming any names, Nedved, Smith, Lupul and Horcoff were basically turds out there. the rest of the gang was mired in sub-par mediocrity ! Final score Flames 4 Oilers 2, what a disappointment to end the week.
*
Ryans hockey poll of the month !
Should the Oilers...
*
a) Play their hearts out for the rest of the season (Pride) and miss the playoffs in 17th place overall ?
b) File a bogus lawsuit with the N.Y.I. claiming one of the traded players we got for Ryan Smyth is actually dead and nullify the deal so we can have Ryan back ?
c) Coax Mark Messier out of retirement to play the rest of the season giving him a chance to score his 700th goal (he's at 694) ?
d) Tank the rest of the season to try for the 2nd or 3rd overall draft pick in the '07 entry draft ?
*
Incidentally Ryan Smyth scored in his second game with the Islanders, in my books that's Ryan Smyth 2 Edmonton Oilers 0

Way to go Smytty !

Live @ Rexall Place
For the seventh time this season and fourth time at Rexall Place, the Edmonton Oilers meet up with provincial rivals the Calgary Flames tonight. Edmonton has dropped each of its last three games and now sits 11 points back of the eighth and final playoff spot. However, the team they're catching will be their opponents tonight, Calgary!

Smyth helps N.Y.I. in losing cause !

This is not a site I expected to see this week !

10 mins 16 secs - all it took to get his first point, an assist, on a goal by Sillinger in the first period. The Islanders lost the game 3-2 in overtime to St.Louis

Game Day !
