One Week Off !

The mill has shut down, and I have one glorious week off (without pay). Not really worried about it though, it's a 3 paycheck month.
*
I'm busy building two small beds for the girls room, they're getting a "while you were" out makeover. Today I paint the beds, tomorrow we assemble the new room.

I'm completely in love with my kids, and I'm glad to hang with them on my time home. Gabe and I have been playing video games together, and I've got some cute pics of the girls, I hope to take everyone fishing in the boat too.

Gabe

Emma & Avery

A friend of mine needs help drywalling his basement this week, and I need help doing mine, so we should stay busy. Can't wait to get our home back in order, winter is coming !

Vader has a new home (he or she) left us yesterday and I feel pretty good about the new family. I may actually miss the lil' scruff ball, just about had it house trained (90 %)

Char had an appointment with her doc for the baby, so far so good. Please keep us in your prayers and throw some names our way if you wish, maybe there'll be a prize from me for the best one, it depends on the participation !

Well time to fly...it is a busy week !

Vader's song

The Dog Came Back

Written By: Harry S. Miller ( later altered by Ryan Jackson)

Old mister Jackson had troubles of his own he had a dark dog which wouldn't leave its home; he tried and he tried to give the dog away, he gave it to a woman livin' far, far away.
But the dog came back the very next day, the dog came back, we thought he was a goner but the dog came back; it just couldn't stay away. Away, away, yea, yea, yea

The man around the corner swore he'd kill the dog on sight, he loaded up his shotgun with nails and dynamite; he waited and he waited for the dog to come around, ninety seven pieces of the man is all they found.
But the dog came back the very next day, the dog came back, we thought he was a goner but the dog came back; it just couldn't stay away. Away, away, yea, yea, yea

Well folks after a breif stay in his new home "Vader" is back with us (for now) cause the new home has a mean dog that was cruel to lil' Vader ! Pray for us !

Women !

This morning on the Interstate, I looked over to my left and there was a woman in a brand new Cadillac doing 65 mph with her face up next to her rear view mirror putting on her eyeliner.
I looked away for a couple seconds and when I looked back she was halfway over in my lane, still working on that makeup. As a man, I don't scare easily. But she scared me so much, I dropped my electric shaver, which knocked the donut out of my other hand.
In all the confusion of trying to straighten out the car using my knees against the steering wheel, it knocked my cell phone away from my ear which fell into the coffee between my legs, splashed, and burned Big Jim and the Twins, ruined the damn phone, soaked my trousers, and disconnected an important call.
Damn women drivers !

I'm itchin for Hockey !

Smash that fat mouth!
*
It's time for p.b. or pay back to all you all who just don't get it ! I've relaxed most of the summer with hockey pains healing in the fringe of my memory, but the new campaign is at hand, and I want some Hockey. It was tough to see all the rent-a-players pack their bags and bolt Big E, it was even harder to stomache the Pronger fiasco, but I was equally dis-heartened to say adieu to Big Georges.
Good Luck Buddy !

God knows my pain, so some good things did surface this summer just like my new lil doggy puking up rose hips.

  1. Aquiring Lupul and Smid
  2. Resigning free agents Roloson, Pisani, Horcoff, Stoll, and Hemsky
  3. Snagging Petr Sykora off the Rangers

Camping In August !

What a beautiful weekend, well at least the day time hours anyways ! We Jackson's went camping at previously mentioned Heather Lake, the afternoon was hot and beautiful , the evening however was frankly very cold ! We could've used some more blankets, but seeing as Char packed everything including "the toilet" we had no more room ! (haha) Char's parents joined us Friday evening and we had fun at our campfire. Saturday morning Ted, Gabe, and myself went fishing at Dina 1, and I can thankfully say the "skunk" is over. I myself caught 5 rainbows and kept 2. Gabe "the Champion" caught 2 and his big guy was the biggest- longest one. His weighed in at 0.8 ! a nice colorful fish indeed ! Thank you God for a great sunny day again on Saturday and today (Sunday) Chars' brother and his family came out for lunch and boat rides on Saturday and the kids had a blast ! Gabe and Jr. even caught a toad! Emma and Deacon played well together with the Dora house and Avery had a good visit with grandma and "pa" The one bad thing about the weekend was Vader eating some grubs, minnows the kids caught, rose hips, and shrubs then puking them up ! Poor lil' baby, he's too curious for his own good and had to be leished to the boat trailer most of the time. Enjoy the pics !

What a Find !

While out raspberry picking ( and late in the season I might add ) Char, the kids and I happened on Heather Lake ! What a find, it was beautiful, secluded, and it has only 3 camp sites. Our plan is to return tomorrow and camp there for the weekend. The kids cried when we left, they didn't want to leave yet ! Theres lots of minnows and butterflies to catch, and I've heard of a real big rainbow trout coming out of there. Can hardly wait til the end of my shift to get out there with the wife, kids, dog, and boat !

The fishing skunk strikes again !

The new captain of the Lady Vi !
The rainbow "Char" caught !
A bugs eye view of daddy cleaning "mommy's" fish (by Emma)

Once again the family went out for a day of trolling, once again daddy was bitten by the skunk. Not that anyones keeping track, but I haven't tagged a rainbow since July 1st, I believe it's like the 7th or 8th time I've been out since then. Char will tell you I'm whinning, her mom will tell you it's because I'm driving the boat, Keith will say it's because I'm fleecing God, but I maintain it's because of the skunk !

Char went to P.G. tonite with Dawn to bring home the newest member of our family, "Vader", a mutt cross ! Supposedly it's not to grow taller than our knees but who knows ! The kids are thrilled of course, and wont it fit in nice with our little Jackson clan ! I think Char can be the one to house train it and make sure it's walked daily because she got to pick it out. For the record I wanted a german sheppard, I even agreed to be the primary care giver ! Life as we know it will change, as I'm sure we'll step in our share of pee and poop, once again I believe this should be Char's "duty" ! Ahh well, he kinda looks like a sheppard !

what the $%@# ?

Deep Thought !

Fishin's pretty much been a bust for me lately ! I've gone out, but come back with notin' ! One might think if a guy goes at least four times a week there would be lots of fish in the freezer, but not for me ! I'm hoping this rainbow is a sign of GOOD fortune in the NEAR future !

Gone fishin' !

1st fish, biggest fish ! 2.4 pounds
2nd fish, slimiest fish 1.0 pound
last fish, smallest fish 0.5 pounds
*
Went fishin' with the fam' last night and had a great time ! It was sunny and warm, and all the kids tagged a fish ! Even my lovely assistant Char caught her first rainbow of the year, which is good since her license was looking like a $35 piece of paper. Anyway I'm glad we went despite my sore and aching body, because today is overcast and yuck ! Tonite we'll have Char's folks over and b.b.q. our catch of fish, it should be good ! "Catch" ya later !
