Great Sermon

What a great sermon we received today! Ken Dyck was up from Surrey preaching "If it's broke..fix it!" Scripture was from Genesis, and specifically about Adam and his family. The point of his sermon was repairing disfunctional relationships ie.-family. the Holy Spirit moved me, and the sermon was bang on the money. We humans have a lot of defects of character that get in the way of our personal relationships, and simply acknowledging them and working to rid ourselves of them brings us real character thru humility.

  1. self-centeredness
  2. blaming
  3. self-justification
  4. pride
  5. false humility
  6. impulsiveness
  7. envy & jealousy
  8. phoniness
  9. conning
  10. people pleasing
  11. self-pity
  12. perfectionism
  13. intolerance
  14. sarcasm
  15. taking for granted
  16. impatience
  17. withdrawing
  18. avoidance
  19. violence
  20. gossiping
  21. lying

These imperfections are the opposite of the Fruits of the Spirit. We need to pray for wisdom and seek goodness to truly be real! Just imagine what the world would be like today if Adam and Eve ignored Satan. We need to flee sin ! When we are on our game sin struggles to overcome us. Try these honorable character traits the next time you struggle with a family member, co-worker, or friend.

  • love
  • joy
  • peace
  • patience
  • gentleness
  • goodness
  • kindness
  • self control
  • faithfulness

Feed the ugliness that's inside all of us some fruit.
