Crazy Kids

I really do have some entertaining (and odd) children.

I thought Gabe wouldn't mind a moustachio (and he didn't until I was done one side) then he wigged out.

Emma looking adorable in her hockey jammies.

Avery loves the digital camera and loves having Gabe "pose" for her.

Avery and Gabe wanted me to take this picture, they said they were a hephalump.

Gabe and his puppies.

Do you remember the movie "People Under the Stairs" ? Well last night we lived it. The kids slept under the basement stairs in the storage space. It was their idea! Thank goodness they didn't haunt us !

Whenever Char and I are on the computer, or on the phone it seems like the kids will anything silly to get our attention...like this!

Shark soup is Served

Sharks' weren't up to the task as the Oilers' beat 'em in a shootout last night 3-2. Mike Morrison came back and showed the boys how to close the door, and recorded his 6th win. Peca and Smyth (two Olympians) scored in the shootout, and gave us the much needed two points. A couple more wins this week and the Oilers' synch up a little more security in the tight N.W. division. Next up...Phoenix !

Vrs. Sharks'

Tonite the Oilers' play the San Jose Sharks'. The Sharks' are my son Gabes' favorite team, presumably because of their name and logo, but this is not the case with me. A large bowl of shark soup is the order of the day. The Oilers' have slipped big time in the new year and it is time to right the ship. Watch for Radek Dvorak, he's back in the line-up from his injury and he needs to light it up. One of the 3 goalies has to step it up too, Colorado has burned right past us in the last couple weeks, and we need to get on a REAL role.

Oilers' Vrs. Sabres'

Oilers' play the Sabres' tonite and need a win, they're having some defensive trouble as of late so pray for our "d". The race in the N.W. is still close so a o.t. loss or shoot-out loss wont do we need 2 points!! The 1st line needs a big game, heck so does the 2nd as well. Go Oilers' Go !

Im Back

The Oilers' dumped 2 big games in a row, but that's besides the point...
Char, the kids and I had a great weekend in Prince George. I received my holiday pay and treated it like lottery winnings as I haven't been out of McKenzie in a while. We stayed at the TreasureCove hotel and casino and had a family blast. The kids were able to spend there Christmas cash at Walmart, we went out for dinner, and played on the hotel waterslide and in the pool. I was at the top of the waterslide with Gabe, Emma was at the bottom with Char and Avery, one second Emma was fine, the next second she was underwater. She had just kept walking into the deep spot and couldn't stop, or turn around how scarey for us parents. Char has probably never moved faster in her life. All turned out well, AND we can never turn our back on the munchkin again, that was only Friday. Saturday we had a great breakfast of waffles and then it was back to the pool. We shopped some more, and went to the Discovery Place Museum. This museum is a very happening place for a kid ! There's many interactive things to do and lots of interesting sights to see. I really enjoyed the animals display. Next stop was BubbaBaloos for lunch where the kids were able to run off some more of their energy and play games for prizes. I would recommend bringing a bag lunch (haha) this joint is very expensive. Avery got bowled over twice by a little brat so I told the brat he better smarten up or I'd take him to his momma. She saw this and came over to me. After questioning the kids as to the story, the mom was sure her kid was the culprit and that Avery was truthful. My story has a point... she had told her kid that he better tell her the truth, and that Jesus was watching and so was Santa! I just about burst out laughing, I sure was hoping the kid would tell the truth for Santas' sake. Some kids parents! Went back to Walmart to pick up Avery's photos from her Christmas camera and then headed home, what a full weekend!

Oilers' vrs. Rangers"

The N.Y. Rangers' will retire Mark Messiers' number 11 tomorrow night in a game against the Edmonton Oilers'. The powers that be should be ashamed of themselves for making this game a pay-per-view event. The Oilers' will be in tough against the revitalized N.Y.R. because the team is so different from the past. Gone are all the high priced free agents ( Lindros, Bure, Fleury, etc...) Jagr is the core, and the young cast around him is learning astronomically. There are 7 Czechs on the team, and the Czechs are getting it done. The Oilers' are no slouch this year. They're proving that hard work, speed, and team effort can win games. It should be a barn burner reminiscent of the 80's with Gretzky and Messier. Oilers' need this one, so say a prayer !

Back in Business

The Oilers' got back to business kicking the Penguins' butt, winning 3-1. The 2 Points add up nicely with Calgary losing to the Rangers', so were only 3 points back. Shawn Horcoff got the hat trick, and Jussi Markkanen got the win for my first two stars, and Ryan Smyth added a pair of assists for my third star. Great team effort, the Oilers' have won my respect back!

Must Win !

If you didn't figure it out already the Oilers' lost to Toronto 3-2, and hence "no post " !Tonight they can win back my honor by pounding the crap out of the Pittsburgh Penguins. Anything less would be a travesty, because the Oilers' are the far better team by a country mile. Sidney Crosby will play his first game against the Oilers' tonite, and I think he's about the only thing Pittsburgh can be happy about this season. I'm predicting the Oilers' win in a blowout, so say your prayer cause we need to get on a winning streak again.

He Scores He Scores He Scores He Scores...

The Oilers' filled the net, and kept Chicago from doing likewise winning 5-0. Ty Conklin got the teams first shut out of the season and Fernando Pisani scored twice to lead the way. Our team sits 2 points back of Calgary for the division lead, and are tied for 5th in the conference with Dallas. Every facet of the game was in the Oilers' control as then slaughtered 'em in the face off circle, controlled them on the penalty kill, beat them on the shot clock, and managed a powerplay goal to boot. My 3 stars are #3 Ryan Smyth (1G,1A)#2 Fernando Pisani (2G) and #1 Ty Conklin. (23 saves)

Oilers' tonite!

Tonite the Oilers' are back on the ice to try and scalp the Blackhawks'. The Oil are a far far more superior team in many aspects, yet they haven't beat the Hawks' yet this year 0-2. Since they last played Edmonton has gone on quite a rampage so look for the trend to end. The game is on Sportsnet so watch it for me and cheer em on ! (I got no cable)

Summary

Well the Oilers' lost 6-5 to Calgary last night, and here's how it all looks now.

Team GP W L OT PTS
Calgary 39 23 12 4 50
Edmonton 40 22 14 4 48
Vancouver 38 21 12 5 47
Colorado 40 20 17 3 43

Edmonton is currently in 6th place in the Western Conference 7 points back of Detroit. They have a comfortable seat being 6 points up on the 9th place team " Phoenix". A win in Calgary last night sure would have been great, but they couldn't get the right bounce. The Flames scored with a little over a minit to go when they "bounced" one of of Chris Prongers' leg. "What the heck!", he allready had 4 assists to that point. The Oilers' next game is Tuesday against Chicago. Let's start the New Year with a bang, and kick their butt.
