The room will have a new flavour come September with all the off season happenings. The team that went to the Stanley Cup is no more !
- Laraque signed with Phoenix as U.F.A
- Spacek signed with Buffalo as U.F.A
- Pronger traded to Anaheim for Lupul, Smid, and picks
Likely gone are unrestricted free agents
- Samsonov 3.65 M
- Peca 4.25 M
- Dvorak 2 M
Three players opted for salary arbitration and will likely hit the jack-pot with raises. Hopefully we can still afford them !
- Hemsky 1.13 M
- Horcoff 0.85 M
- Stoll 0 .675 M
Thankfully we have retained the services of Roloson and Pisani whom signed for some nice coin...4 M and 2 M respectively ! And have added Reasoner back into the fold signing him for 0.95 M
I think the Oilers have commited to near 20 M in contracts thus far and the team salary cap is 44 M, so they should be in good shape to make a contending team again for '06-'07 ! Kevin Lowe has his work cut out for him but he's pretty savy, and he has the bonus cash for reaching the Cup Final, and the remainder of Prongers' cash to swing some deals. Good luck G.M. !
Oh well, the Vancouver Canucks have allready lost 8 players from last year some of them prominent members, so were okay so far !
